Hi Kathy! Super nice article about gladiolus. My wife and I have huge flower beds and have many different types of flowers and plants, but unfortunately no gladiolus. Kathy, Gosh I love to garden and hope you keep writing about flowers. I wish the Glad wasn't so short-lived. While many of my bulbs need to come up for the winter, I have found that my glads can take our cold (southern NJ). They are a beautiful flower and come in so many lovely colors.Hello Nancy,We're in zone 7 so we leave ours in the ground also. I never dig up any bulbs unless I'm dividing or sharing. If they have trouble suviving naturally, it most often means that we probably won't see them the following year. Thanks for writing.Kathy
